St. Charles Family Law Attorney Rory T. Weiler Elected ISBA President
Weiler & Associates, Inc. is honored to announce that our partner Rory T. Weiler will now be serving as the President of the Illinois State Bar Association. Mr. Weiler has long been involved with the ISBA, previously serving as chair of the Family Law Section Council and Treasurer. As a member of the Family Law Section Council, he acted as co-editor of its monthly newsletter. Rory is also a member of the Kane County Bar Association.
Attorney Weiler currently focuses his practice on family law, with a particular focus on complex financial cases, and those involving child custody. Another special interest of his is the division of closely held family businesses incident to divorce. His skill in this area has helped countless locally-owned family businesses survive family divides, contributing to the vitality of St. Charles and the surrounding geographic areas.
Rory’s election as ISBA President is just one of the many accolades he has received throughout his more than 40 years of legal practice. This year, he was named Lawyer of the Year for Chicago family law by US News and World Reports’ Best Lawyers. This award demonstrates Rory’s outstanding knowledge of Illinois family law and his exemplary service to members of our community who need to address family law needs.

Weiler & Associates, Inc. is proud to announce that Attorney Rory T. Weiler has recently been awarded 2022 “Lawyer of the Year” for family law in Chicago by Best Lawyers. This award is peer-nominated and is given to just a single lawyer in each location and practice area. With over 40 years of experience practicing law, Mr. Weiler has focused his legal career on family matters, concentrating on complex economic conflicts and child custody cases.
Mr. Weiler is a recipient of numerous honors and awards that recognize his work with indigent clients. Previously he was the recipient of the Kane County Bar Association’s Pro Bono Award and the ISBA’s John C. McAndrews Pro Bono Service Award. In 2011, he was awarded the National Legal Services Corporation Certificate of Appreciation.
Additionally, Mr. Weiler is the current President-Elect of the Illinois State Bar Association, and he will be installed as President in 2022. He has formerly served as chair for the association’s Family Law Section Council and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the ISBA’s charitable arm, the Illinois Bar Foundation.
